Daniel - Faith in Exile

We live in world at war ideologically. Political decisions and power seem to be the dominant topics of immediate need. However, we see in the book of Daniel, as with the rest of the Bible, that God is the God over kingdoms and rulers. God is not amused with petty political power. He is interested in his kingdom expanding. In the book of Daniel, we are challenged to trust that God is over history and that we belong to his kingdom through Jesus Christ. In some ways, we live as exiles, like God’s people in Daniel. And, we are called to be a faithful witness to the kingdom of God in the earthly kingdom we find ourselves living.
