Life seems uninspiring and repetitive. We live dwelling on what we need, what we want, what we don’t have, what’s wrong, and what’s right. Apart from knowing God, our lives are about ourselves. We are left to ourselves in spiritual and eternal isolation. God offers us a different way. Living in awe of God changes our lives. It doesn’t just change our perspective, it also changes our hearts. When God opens our eyes to see who he is and when he gives us new life to enjoy him, we are able to live a life of abundance and satisfaction. Apart from him, we are starving people who are unsatisfied with everything on this side of the sun. As we look at Psalm 145 at the start of a new year, we want to respond to God’s greatness, living in awe of him, to live lives of worship to him.
