Music at The Well
What does it look like to worship God all the time? Do everything to draw attention to His greatness and goodness. It means loving our spouse and children, serving others, spending our money, helping the poor, driving our car, going to school, working our jobs, playing sports, and enjoying our hobbies in ways that bring glory to the Savior whose praise will never cease.
Worship is not confined to music or singing on Sundays or even a particular genre of music. Even still, one of my favorite times with our body is celebrating Jesus and ministering to one another through song. My prayer for The Well is that we would be known as a worshipping church gathered and a worshipping church scattered; that we would live out and create a culture of worship in our every day life. My prayer is that we would engage our city in worship.
Many of the songs we sing at The Well are hymns written hundreds of years ago that have been rewritten to a more modern context or songs written by churches in similar cultures. I thought it would be helpful to share some of the bands that contribute to some of the songs we celebrate God with.
Edbrooke Collective – Fellowship Denver
Citizens – Mars Hill Church, Seattle
King’s Kaleidescope – Mars Hill Church, Seattle
Ghost Ship – Mars Hill Church, Seattle
We can also recommend the following albums to you, although you might not get to hear these at our gatherings because it’s more Hip-Hop (perhaps someday, haha):
Church Clothes – LeCrae
The Good Life – Trip Lee
In addition, we are currently in the process of writing and recording our own songs to share with you as well, so look for that in the coming months. Finally, in all things…
“whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God…” 1 Corinthians 10:31
