How To's for The Well Online


The Well Online is in full effect for our church community. As an ongoing resource, we want to make sure you are getting the most out of it. It's an exciting change for us that has made a lot of our community stronger already. In essence, this software portal is designed to get everyone connected with one another easily. It also keeps you up to date with events and announcements happening at The Well. The Well Online functions a little uniquely, but once you’re familiar with it, it’s quite more user friendly than most software platforms. Below are a few things to know for how to best use these features of The Well Online.

Groups: Be sure to join any group that’s applicable to you. If you used to use The City at The Well, all of the groups that were there are now on The Well Online. To see recent activity in all of the groups you’re in, simply click on the “Recent Activity” tab at the top of the home page. This serves as your news feed for every group you are in.


Messages within groups: Messages are a quick and easy way to communicate with the people in your group and it also keeps a history of the conversations. Messages can be utilized to post about any communication within the group. Whether that be an event, someone looking for a sub serving on a Sunday, an announcement within a particular group or just a reminder. Messages will send an email notification when something is posted and when someone comments on the message. Calendar/Events: The calendar function is a great way to see upcoming events within each group. Only leaders of each group have the privilege to post new events on the calendar. In general, please reach out to the leader of your group about your posting privileges if you are wanting to post something. You can track RSVPs, but it does not provide the function to assign things to bring to an event. If you’re hoping to do this, you can list out everything in the event and people can respond with what they are bringing in their RSVP comment This can also be done as a message. Once an event is posted, you will not receive an email notification like you do with messages. This event will show up in a weekly summary email that is sent out from The Well Online each week. Newly added events will also show up under the Recent Activity tab on the Welcome page. The Recent Activity tab is a great tab to check often to keep up to date with all of the groups you are in. Mobile App: There is a free mobile app called LEAD for managing The Well Online, but it was only created for leaders of groups. It can be downloaded on the iOS and Android stores. If you are not a leader of a group on The Well Online you will not be able to access the app. In the future, we are hoping a church wide app for The Well Online will come in the near future. For members who are not leaders of a group, The Well Online functions really well on mobile internet, and be easily saved as a bookmark. 

Giving: Don’t forget to set up your finanacial giving through The Well Online. It's the most efficient and fluent way to set things up. This can be done on the Give tab on the left hand column. You will also see all your giving history from The Well Online under the ‘Schedules/History' tab. To learn more about setting up online giving, check out this video here.
